1300 Suzuki Hayabusa

Well, this preamble to show that the hunger for speed of a motorcycle is something insatiable, never-ending, almost. Now that the limits are more stringent now that licenses fly like butterflies in the hands of police officers armed with cameras more and more ruthless, Suzuki GSX-R 1300 proposes aka Hayabusa.

What has missile ground floor of this particular bike? Nothing, except that he can easily overcome the 300 hour staffing, to 200 in just fewer than 7 seconds and just over 200 meters in short, this Hayabusa is a missile capable of down to earth performance nothing short of extraordinary. Exaggerated in every way, this four cylinder is not a monster, heavy and unwieldy ready to wheelie or scoured every throttle opening; it is instead a bike to ride well or very well, specially built with many criteria to allow to tap its huge potential.

Omit the personal comments on aesthetics. In a brief investigation I have discovered that, like all things extreme, the feelings and opinions are very mixed. Some are ready to swear on her absolute beauty, but whoever looks at her with contempt. Turning Hayabusa with phrases like "is simply wonderful" or "looks like a suppository with the wheels" are wasted. Let's say that exceed certain speeds the bikes "must" be done with: aerodynamics, when you want to break through the wall of the 300 hour, assumes a crucial role so as to determine all the technical and aesthetic choices. Beyond the fact that like it or not, this big Suzuki then be taken as is. It must be said however that the gray-black, makes it a little 'more than justice to the line of motion with respect to the "flesh-colored," of whom it is permissible to doubt.

Technique Traditional not have gone looking for futuristic solutions for their GSX-R 1300, Hamamatsu engineers have tended to refine the traditional technique. What you need to get strong? And in fact the 1300 Suzuki cavalry did not really beat anyone: 175 horsepower, an exaggeration. The engine is a traditional four-line with four valves per cylinder displacement in the vitamin, which brings the Hayabusa to be the most super series airspace in the world, fed by a fuel injection system, pipes are 46 mm, and complete with exhaust catalyst, resulting in two silencers impressive dimensions. Nothing valves decks, architectural or super material strange then, but a classic sport bike engine from large cubic volume, updated and refined to provide a power worthy of a GP bike.

The traditional frame chassis does not show anything particularly innovative indeed; at first glance seem the same as the GSX-R 750. Clearly not, the two aluminum Travons have other thicknesses and sections and just look at the swing arm and its truss reinforcement to understand what tremendous strain may be brought by the cycling. In this era of whole super compact and lightweight the 1485 mm and weights 215 kg of this maxi Suzuki leave something 'perplexed. It must be said, however, that the tilt of the steering column is not high to offer a good compromise between agility and stability (there is also the steering damper).

Solid, well brakes watching the impression of being in the presence of a mastodon heavy and unwieldy, a feeling that belies the guide instantly. Suzuki thought it appropriate, just, viable half firmly on the ground that gave short, a great feeling of strength even at high speeds. The purpose was fully achieved. Chapter brakes: l 'Hayabusa flies, but it must also be able to stop in time and space reasonable. The plant Tokiko with 2 320 mm discs with six-piston calipers and a foot long it promises to do just that. Course the rear there is a remarkable disc diameter (240 mm) prepared to intervene in case of need.

Finishes admirals flagship Like any self-respecting also this big Suzuki wants to offer a good impression of him soon as the finishing. Not paying next to no criticism painting and couplings and the dashboard is the most complete could want motorist. Odometer water thermometer, fuel level, a long series of lights that cover the vital functions of the engine, clock, all located behind the tinted plexi glass profiled in a cockpit-style car. Do not miss even a small onboard computer which also indicates the current fuel consumption.

All at a price, i.e. 12,050 Euro 23,330,000 pounds, which are far from being matched superbike but that of many sports and slightly exceeds that of some maxi enduro. What this makes the Hayabusa to reach for most pockets, but certainly not all the handcuffs.
